Oasis: Finsbury Park In Pictures Sound 54 was lucky enough to be at Finsbury Park on 7th July (Sunday) to catch Oasis in action. Also guesting were The Charlatans, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Proud Mary, Shack, and The Coral.
The day kicked off at 2pm. Although the majority of the 40,000 crowd arrived sometime later, missing the early performances from bands The Coral, Shack, and Proud Mary. The latter putting in the strongest performance.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with their heavy brand of guitar playing were followed by the Charlatans. An impressive display by Manchester's other big band (an excellent group in their own right).
Oasis took to stage at 8pm kicking off with the pounding hit 'F*cking in the Bushes'. Two hours of classic British rock just seemed to fly by. Stand out songs being 'Little By Little' and the old classic 'Cigarettes and Alcohol'.
The last song of the night was a brilliant cover of 'My Generation'. A dedication to the recent death of bass player John Entwistle of the Who.
